Following last season's review of its disciplinary procedures, The FA took all possible steps to ensure that all participants in the game were fully informed as to how the disciplinary system would work. Particular attention was devoted to changes from the previous season, which were clearly identified and explained.

During the last week in July, The FA, in conjunction with the League Managers Association, held two Q&A information sessions for the Premier League managers. One such meeting was held in London for the managers of southern clubs, with another held in Bolton for the northern clubs. Another session was held in the West Midlands for the Football League managers. In addition, the LMA was fully involved in the review of The FA's disciplinary system from the start.

These information sessions were followed by the circulation of the procedures to all member clubs in the Premier League, Football League, Football Conference and feeder leagues, highlighting any changes. The procedures are also included in the FA Handbook and TheFA.com, along with a "layman's guide" on the website for easier understanding.

In addition, the relevant departments of The FA are always available to clarify any queries related to the disciplinary system.

The FA can also clarify the disciplinary situation in relation to the incident on Wednesday involving Arsenal’s Robin Van Persie and Manchester United’s Kieron Richardson. The referee has reviewed the incident and confirmed that he had seen the incident and dealt with it appropriately. No further disciplinary action was therefore possible under the Disciplinary Regulations.
