In an interview with BBC Radio 5 Live, WADA Director General, David Howman, said: "We [WADA] have total confidence in the processes that they [The FA] have put into place and we expect that those processes will be followed properly and the outcome will be a correct one.

"With the facts that we've been made aware of certainly it's the right approach to adopt - it's a breach of the anti-doping code and the way in which they've [The FA] followed that through seems to be in accordance with all the rules that they have and therefore they've done the proper thing."

With the case still ongoing, WADA will not play any part in the current process.

Mr Howman explained: "We're in a position really monitoring and overseeing things and we wouldn't like to comment or interfere with the process until it is complete."
