We can confirm that no further action will be taken against David Beckham following an alleged use of the elbow towards Lee Bowyer in the Leeds United - Manchester United match on Saturday, 14th September.
The match referee, Jeff Winter, saw the incident in question and gave a free kick to Leeds United. FA rules state that if a referee sees an incident as it occurs, takes a decision accordingly, and does not request it to be further examined after the match, no additional action can be taken. The matter is therefore closed.
In relation to an alleged use of the elbow involving Thierry Henry of Arsenal and John Robinson of Charlton Athletic, also on Saturday, match referee Steve Dunn has confirmed that he did not see the incident in question. The FA will therefore investigate the incident further.
As regards an alleged bottle-throwing incident involving Fabien Barthez at Elland Road on Saturday, we are currently liaising with the West Yorkshire Police and will not be in a position to make any comment until the police enquiries have been completed.
We will keep you updated.
