Giggs to captain Team GB

Stuart Pearce has today confirmed that Manchester United midfielder Ryan Giggs will be captain of the Team GB Men's football squad at London 2012.
Giggs, a winner of 12 Premier League titles, five FA Cups and two UEFA Champions League competitions, will be competing at his first international tournament.
Giggs is one of the three "over age" players permitted under the Olympic football tournament rules, alongside Liverpool forward Craig Bellamy and Manchester City and England defender Micah Richards.
Giggs said: "Obviously I have experience and there are a lot of younger players in this squad. As captain, hopefully I can pass that on to them.
"It is a tremendous honour to be part of the Olympics. Stuart [Pearce] has given me the captaincy, which is even better so I am really looking forward to it.
"It is a unique experience and one from the start that I wanted to be part of when I got the opportunity."
Fellow Welshmen and Olympic team mates Bellamy and Aaron Ramsey were both in full support of Giggs wearing the armband for Great Britain.
"He is probably one of the best players who has ever played the game," said Bellamy.
"It is fitting he is captain and also I have been very fortunate to play with him for my country as well, so I know Ryan quite well. It is very fitting he is captain and is here.''
Arsenal midfielder Ramsey added: "Everyone knows what he has done in the game. He has been there and done it.
"He has won many trophies and he is a great player as well. Hopefully he can lead by example and give his experience to the rest of the team.''
Team GB will play their first match in half a century when they take on Brazil at the Riverside Stadium on Friday 20 July.
