Lois Fidler hopes to become the fourth female to gain the UEFA Pro Licence qualification

Lois Fidler has started the journey to join distinct coaching company.

Only three female coaches in this country currently hold the UEFA Pro Licence award, and now the England Women’s U17 Head Coach hopes to become the fourth.

Hope Powell, Mo Marley and Julie Chipchase have the prestigious qualification and after beginning the course at St. George’s Park last month, Fidler expressed her desire to join them.

She said: “As an ambassador for the women’s game, the opportunity and experience I can gain from the Pro Licence, to give back and help the game grow further, I see it as nothing but a positive and I am looking forward to embracing it."

Fidler has been particular pleased with the open nature of the discussions, stressing that many similar issues transfer across both the men’s and women’s games.

She added: “All of the candidates have been open and insightful, which is humbling for me as a non ex-professional of the men’s game and the only person here working in the women’s game.

“It is reassuring to hear some of their experiences are largely the same. Some of their concerns and apprehensions about how they are going to evolve and move forward are also the same.

"It is standing testament to them that they are willing to share those things.”
