Wembley chance for grassroots five-a-side teams, such as those from Ryde Elite Soccer

This year’s FA Fives is split into two competitions – Champions and Grassroots.

And that means more teams than ever will get the chance to play at Wembley Stadium next summer in the biggest and best five-a-side football competition in the world.

On the Isle of White, Ryde Elite Soccer’s Grassroots qualifying league is setting an example for The FA’s Respect message.

So far there’s not been a single yellow card for any of the teams – so credit to the players and referees!  Can any other league match that?

Ryde Elite Soccer has brought together a league that includes local football clubs, Futsal teams and the local Just Play centre players. Players have also come from beach soccer!

The mix is working wonders with different members of the community playing without disciplinary problems in an atmosphere that lives and breathes The FA’s Respect programme.

Next step for the league winners – The FA Fives Regional Finals!

They run from 27 April to 19 May with the Wembley Final of The FA Fives following soon after.
