Sheffield clinched The FA National Futsal League North crown after a superb performance in the National Cycling Centre saw them overcome their closest rivals, Manchester.
Two goals from Bruno Nascimento and one each for Richard Ward and Ryon Leyshon saw the Steel City side through in a fiercely fought encounter in front of a big crowd and the home club’s live-streaming TV cameras.
England international Ross Bond and Spaniard Vicente Garcia both scored for the home side, but it was not enough to keep Marcos Leon’s slim title hopes in tact.
Elsewhere in the North, Damon Shaw’s Middlesbrough confirmed a third place finish with a dominant 15-1 triumph over Hull at Thornaby Pavilion, whilst a buoyant Liverpool side ended their season on a high with a 15-3 win away at Leeds & Wakefield.
In the South, Kickers and West London battled out a 3-3 draw in the Score Centre which kept the relegation dogfight wide open.
West London must now wait and see how Kickers fair against champions Helvecia next weekend, before they will know if they have avoided the dreaded drop.
