Following a successful pilot stage through the 2008/2009 Season, the Charter Standard League Programme is now open to all FA sanctioned Leagues.
Several Leagues that achieved the award through the pilot stage have remarked that working through the Charter standard league process has helped them improve their service to their member clubs and grown the number of teams, referees and coaches operating within their leagues.
The pilot stage helped to inform 3 key changes to the Charter Standard League Criteria;
- Maximum number of teams in a division is now 12 increased from 10.
- Full Time is no longer mandatory, it is just recommended.
- Provision of flexible formats is encouraged but not mandatory.
Leagues that are keen to achieve the award, should contact their local CFA for support and guidance.
