Sir Trevor Brooking says that the new regulations for kids' football in England will make the game more enjoyable for all concerned as the 'Future Game' takes shape.
Speaking to 11-year-old Jadon at St. George's Park, the former England and West Ham United midfielder explained that the decision to play on smaller pitches and with smaller-sided teams through the various age groups can only increase the participation and enjoyment levels of those involved.
Answering Jadon's questions about the changes, The FA's Director Of Football Development said: "We want to make it fun and enjoyable, with more touches for you.
"For me personally, the new format will definitely help you improve.
"The whole idea of this is to keep it fun and enjoyable, because if football loses the fun factor, you'll drift out of the game."
The new changes will also prevent league tables being published in junior football and that is another factor that Brooking believes will only improve English youngsters' experience of the game.
"When you're young, to publish league tables actually puts a lot of pressure on you as an individual, win or lose," he added.
"And mums and dads on the sidelines and even the coaches, judge the results and put pressure on you, because they want to be top of the league.
"We want to make sure it stays fun and we think that by not having the league tables will do that."
