Men's Under-21s Player of the Year (voted for via TheFA.com)
Jordan Henderson, Liverpool
Runner up Martin Kelly, Liverpool Third Place Wilfried Zaha, Crystal Palace
After leading the Young Lions to six wins in six games last year, captain Jordan Henderson scooped the England Under-21s Player of the Year to make it a double success for Liverpool at the awards.
Henderson collected his trophy on stage at the inaugural FA England awards at St. George's Park this evening after taking 36 percent of the fan's votes in an online poll on TheFA.com.
It was the first time the prize had ever been handed out, and the Reds youngster beat off stiff competition from his Anfield team mate Martin Kelly and recent Manchester United recruit Wilfried Zaha.
The midfielder was instrumental as Stuart Pearce's side clinched qualification for Euro 2013 and, according to the Coach, he was fully deserving of the honour.
“He’s very valuable to our group and puts the team before himself every time. He deserves every success as he works so hard," Pearce told TheFA.com.
"Jordan’s been pivotal in pushing us towards the Euros in the summer."
