The 22nd International Sports Rehabilitation Conference takes place in April

Football Medicine Strategies for Muscle & Tendon Injuries
20-21 April 2013, The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, London
Science of Football Summit
22 April 2013, Wembley Stadium

England Manager Roy Hodgson will be one of the expert panellists at this year’s International Sports Rehabilitation and Traumatology Conference in April.

The three-day event in London will welcome medical professionals from the world of football and will be focused this year on footballers’ muscle and tendon injuries.

Joining Hodgson will be the England Team Doctor Ian Beasley and Physiotherapist Gary Lewin, while Charlotte Cowie, Clinical Director of Perform at St George's Park, will also be among the 130 expert delegates.

The conference, run by Isokinetic, one of only 24 FIFA Medical Centres of Excellence around the world, will be held at two venues.

The first two days will be at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in Westminster, Central London, before moving north-west across the capital to Wembley Stadium for the Science of Football Summit.

It will be there that Hodgson and Beasley chair the opening session of the morning looking at loading patterns during training and games.

Hodgson will also be part of a later discussion, along with former England Women’s captain Faye White, on reducing recurrences after hamstring injuries.

This conference will provide an opportunity for those in the football medicine community to take part in free discussion and exchange their own ideas and experiences amongst their peers.

Guests will also have the chance to discuss issues surrounding muscle and tendon injuries with medical staff from Premier League and Champions League clubs, National team doctors and physiotherapists, FIFA and UEFA Medical Committee members as well as a host of leading Sports Medicine organisations.
