Leeds continued their league-leading form with a comfortable 4-1 trumph at Aston Villa.
The visitors were ahead after only seven minutes through Millie Bright but Natalie Gibson equalised in the 34th minute.
Leeds re-established their lead in the 57th minute through Carey Huegett and Jess Holbrook extended it direct from a 65th-minute free-kick. Two minutes later Emma Johnson wrapped up the scoring to confirm her side’s ninth league win of the season.
Basement side Watford gave their fans something to cheer about with a 3-1 win over Coventry City. Sarah Wiltshire's inswinging corner gave the struggling side the lead before Megan Wynne put the Hornets 2-0 up just short of the hour mark. Katy Ward replied with a low drive 15 minutes from time to give Coventry hope but Wiltshire struck again late on to secure the points.
Barnet condemned struggling Nottingham Forest to a 4-2 defeat. The Bees took a 10th-minute lead with a Cheryl Williams' corner went straight in and Danielle Murphy volleyed in the second five minutes before the break from a Stacey Sowden cross.
Sowden had the points sewn up in the second half with two close-range finishes in quick succession before Suzanne Davies pulled a goal back on 62 minutes and Becky Anderson added Forest's second in stoppage time.
Beth Mead became joint top scorer in the league, with her 14th of the season, when her goal gave Sunderland a 1-0 victory at Reading. The result keeps the Black Cats three points behind leaders, Leeds, but with a game in hand.
Charlton made no mistakes with a 2-0 win at home to Cardiff City. The Addicks took a 15th-minute lead courtesy of Gemma Bryan. The outcome was confirmed, midway through the second through comical circumstances, when a goal-line clearance smacked unsuspecting Sinead Boyer in the face before hitting the net.
