Aston Villa thumped Reading Women 6-0 with a brace from Emma Follis as well as strikes from Katie Wilkinson, Natalie Gibson, Erin Vaughan and a Royals’ own goal.

Barnet Ladies smashed four without reply past Watford. Stacey Sowden struck twice, once in the opening five minutes and again in the final five. Vicky Boardman scored on the half-hour mark before Cheryl Williams completed the rout with a last-minute penalty.

Leeds secured a 2-0 win on their visit to Charlton Women. The visitors struck the game’s only goals just six minutes apart with Sarah Danby opening the scoring on the hour and Emma Lipman following up with a fine effort of her own.

Coventry and Cardiff contested a hard-fought 0-0 draw while Sunderland collected all three points with a 2-0 away win over Cardiff thanks to goals from Beth Mead and Sarah McFadden.
