Bees are buzzing

Barnet's Stacey Sowden fired in four WPL goals on Sunday.
The star of the show on Sunday’s full list of Women’s Premier League games was Barnet’s Stacey Sowden.
Sowden scored four as her side won their first game of the season and did so in quite some style as they beat Reading 5-1, Danielle Murphy having opened the scoring before her team-mate took charge and deservedly left with the match ball.
Yet Leeds took charge at the top of the table after an equally impressive victory away from home as they won 2-0 at Nottingham Forest, defenders Hayley Sharp and Faye Birkby firing the goals in either half in what was an impressive display.
A number of other sides are still hot on Leeds’ heels though, chief among them Coventry City.
They pulled off another impressive victory on Sunday, overcoming reigning champions Sunderland thanks to a goal from Courtney Sweetman-Kirk and two from Maz Gauntlett as Paul Cudby’s team responded well after going behind to an effort from Beth Mead.
Sunderland are now fourth after Aston Villa beat Charlton comprehensively, winning 3-0 in London, while in the day’s other game Cardiff won 2-1 at Watford, Zoe Atkins scoring both goals for the Welsh side.
