The Doncaster Rovers Belles midfielder has been rewarded for a fine February.
Doncaster Rovers Belles midfielder Rachel Williams had reason to celebrate this week after winning the February FA Tesco Women’s Premier League Player of the Month Award.Since joining the Belles from Leicester City in the summer Williams has been at the heart of the team’s impressive performances this season and her displays in February were no exception.After impressing with the England U23 team at the start of the month Williams returned to the Belles in style, with two outstanding performances in the League draw against Fulham and The FA Tesco Women’s Premier League Cup Final defeat to Arsenal.As the Belles second highest scorer, her goals from midfield have helped the Belles to fourth spot in the Premier League and her exciting displays recently won her a call-up to the full England Senior squad.Whilst presenting Williams with her award, Hope Powell, England Women’s Head Coach, said:"Rachel has done really well this year and performed at a high level demonstrating her attacking ability from midfield."She has done incredibly well as she continues to work hard at her game.
