Arsenal lifted The FA Tesco Women's Premier League for the sixth time in succession on Sunday in the most dramatic fashion.

Trailing Everton by three points heading into the final game of the season, Arsenal knew that only a win over their closest rivals would deliver them the title.

Suzanne Grant scored the only goal of the game as Arsenal showed their resilience despite losing six first team regulars since the start of last season.

It was a perfect way for Vic Akers to bow out with a domestic treble and his 32nd second trophy in 22 years in charge of Arsenal ladies.

Grant scored from close range following a Kim Little corner, and despite enduring huge pressure from Mo Marley's Everton side they held on to the slim advantage to retain their crown as League champions.
