Lincoln Ladies captain Megan Harris, is looking for an improved team performance this weekend as they host a Liverpool Ladies side looking to impress their new management.

Lincoln were defeated 3-1 at home by Bristol Academy last weekend to leave them sixth in The FAWSL table and Harris said: "To be honest I think it’s a whole team effort, I think we all need to play well this week because last week we had a really poor performance from the majority of our players."

Harris will also be looking for her team’s top goalscorer, Carla Cantrell, to continue her good form adding: "The last couple of weeks she’s been one of our top performers and hopefully she can get herself back on the score sheet and cause a few problems up top."

The Liverpool Ladies have had a turbulent start to the season, with the recent change in management - Robbie Johnson has been replaced by Andy Williams - combined with results that see them second from bottom.

Harris, however, is keen to point out that this in fact makes them more dangerous. She added: "They have parted ways with their manager recently, so they are going to be looking to impress the new people who have come in.

"The players are going to be playing for places with a new bunch of people coming in and looking at the team. That will be the main thing that we need to be wary of, that people are going to be fighting for places in the team and really trying to prove a point."

Elsewhere on Saturday, Birmingham Ladies will play away at Bristol in a battle between two teams with identical records, looking to secure a place in the top two.

Last time these two teams faced each other the game ended in a 1-1 draw, so both will be working hard to get the edge on the other, and come away with three points.
