Goals Centres embrace Respect

First ever automated 'Fair Play League' launched by Small-Sided football providers.

The five-a-side football operator, Goals Soccer Centre, this week launched the first ever automated 'Fair Play League' and 'Rate your Referee' system for all its League programmes.

Every team that currently plays in a Goals League has been entered into the Fair Play League which runs alongside the teams existing programme and will help to bring The FA’s Respect programme to life in an innovative and appealing way.

The Fair Play League allows referees to award scores for sporting behaviour after every game, with the winners being glorified at the top of the table.

Goals' National League Manager Mark Wanless said: “As well as referees rating the teams, every team captain will receive an automated e-mail allowing them to rate the match official based on key criteria taken from FA Small-Sided football accreditation.

"We believe this new advancement will help to further improve the relationship between match official and player, but it will also serve to create a legacy of sportsmanship and respect within the small-sided game.”

Goals' Managing Director Keith Rogers explained: "This is a major advancement in our technology which has been designed to embed the Respect programme into our Leagues nationwide, in conjunction with The Football Association, and will also help to improve the overall playing experience at a Goals facility."
