The men's event was the culmination of a month long competition with heats being held across the city.

Sixteen qualifiers played in the finals at the JJB Soccerdome with last years winners Maine Road going out at the semi final stage. Wasted Talent beat ‘Brazil’ in the final 3-0 to claim the top prize.

As well as the winner’s medals and trophies the team received 10 tickets for an England match of their choice and a pair of Futsal trainers and football each, donated by competition sponsors Mondo.

The women’s event which was held for the first time saw 18 teams playing through the group and knock out stages before favourites Oldham Curzon were beaten in the final by Trafford. As per the men’s competition, the winners received the same prize pack from Mondo.

Tournament Director, Phil Heap said: "Once again the competition standard was of a very high. Adding the women's event has proved to be very popular and we are sufficiently encouraged to start planning for something bigger and better next year.

"Mondo's sponsorship has been exceptionally generous and very well received by the winning players".
