The Kent County FA in conjunction with Special Olympics Great Britain, Charlton Athletic Football in the Community Scheme and Gillingham Football in the Community Scheme recently held a football-coaching event at Goals Soccer Centre in Dartford.
The event was part of the Special Olympics GB football week and attracted over 70 players from a variety of Special Schools in Kent.

The day kicked off with individual schools receiving high quality coaching from Charlton Athletic FC and Gillingham FC coaches. Then after lunch the schools were involved in a round robin tournament in which some excellent team play was demonstrated.
The overall winners of the mini-tournament were Orchard School who were presented with a trophy from Kent County FA Football Development Officer, Paul Dolan. All participants received Charlton Athletic FC and Gillingham FC prizes for taking part.
Bob Billson, Special Olympics GB Regional Development Officer for Greater London and South East commented "the day was a great success with all players showing superb skill, commitment and fair play".
