THE Football Associationis set to meet with the Football League within the next two weeks to discussthe various options available regarding promotion and relegation between theLeague and the Nationwide Football Conference.
Currently, only thechampions of the Conference are eligible for promotion to the Football League.However, following a recommendation at yesterday's meeting of The F.A. Board,the game's governing body is now set to broker talks between the two Leagues inan attempt to introduce a greater level of movement between League andnon-League competition.
F.A. spokesman AdrianBevington said: "We have always promoted the idea of a fluid movement betweenthe different levels of league football in this country.
"The Football Associationshall be working closely with the Football League and the Conference to reachan amicable conclusion that will benefit the game as a whole."
The F.A. Board includes representativesfrom both the professional game (including the Football League) and the NationalGame (representing football at Conference level and below).
