The popular course, which was attended by 20 women, ran alongside an identical men's course.

The female candidates came from a variety of backgrounds including schools, clubs and those who were interested in volunteering in their local communities.

A particular mention should be given to five Kettering United players and two Kettering United mums who are already looking to give something back to the community by coaching at their local club.

The course was led by Marion Hayton, a well known coach educator in the Leicestershire area.

The final assessments were carried out by Matt Greenwood, Girls and Women’s Development Officer in Northampton who expressed his pride in the turn out.

"The coaches have worked hard during the week in some trying conditions and over some long hours, but they were all determined to succeed. I wish them every success in their coaching in the future and look forward to seeing some of them come back and then progress to their Level Two".
