He was named as the new manager of Dulwich Hamlet in the Ryman League Division One earlier this year.

Good luck at Dulwich. How do you feel about the appointment?

I am very pleased. I have joined Dulwich at a time when things have not been going too well for the club in mid-table. But I hope we can improve results and I am quietly optimistic.

How did the position come about for you?

I had a meeting with the club chairman Martin Eede to discuss a few things and we went from there. I believe that there were a number of candidates in the frame but I was fortunate enough to get the job myself.

Dulwich is a famous old club with a proud pedigree so this is a good opportunity for you isn't it?

Absolutely. I think anyone in football would tell you that Dulwich Hamlet has a great tradition. So I feel that if we can bring success to the club then the fans will come back in their droves.

You have a good track record at this level. Until a couple of months ago, you were doing very well as manager of Fisher in the Ryman Premier weren't you?

Things went well at Fisher. Last season, we were champions of the Southern League Division One East and we managed to win the London Senior Cup. But the situation is a little bit different for me at Dulwich now. I have come in at a time where the team has 16 games left and we probably need to win 12 of those to reach the play-offs. It is going to be very difficult - we know that. But hopefully we can get some points on the board and bring success to Dulwich Hamlet Football Club.

Is your first task to access what you have in the squad and what you might need?

Yes. I am familiarising myself with the players. It is going to take time. It doesn't happen overnight. Hopefully they can get used to my way of thinking and I can get some feedback from them. So far, I have been very happy with the lads. They have shown very good commitment and they have the desire and will to win.

Finally, what are your hopes?

We have good bunch of players and I am still confident that we can reach the play-offs. It is going to be tough and we are under no illusions. We have to win more games than we can actually lose. But there is an inner belief within the squad that we can do it. If we get together and stay united, then who knows where we can go. I am cherishing the chance to take Dulwich Hamlet forward. They haven't won any honours for a long time so it would be nice for the fans to have something to celebrate.
