A Dorset school is celebrating after earning the prestigious national FA Charter Standard Primary award, one of the highest honours in grassroots football.
St Aldhelms in Branksome, situated between Poole and Bournemouth, has become one of only six schools throughout the whole country to receive the national award.
Offering an extensive football programme to girls and boys during school hours as well as the opportunity to join lunchtime and extra curricular football clubs, St Aldhelms has developed excellent links with Branksome United, a local Charter Standard Development Club. They regularly organise and hosts numerous friendly competitions for local schools to participate in.
Scott Tait, St Aldhelms Head of Physical Education, was delighted to receive the honour: “The ethos of St Aldhelms is to promote all sports to all of those who want to learn and enjoy sport.
"It’s a great honour for our school to receive such an award for the recognition of providing quality football development.”
