Loughborough were crowned champions of the second Colleges Futsal tournament which was held recently.

Once again held at the excellent Sheffield United FC Academy, the tournament, organised by British Colleges Sport and English Colleges FA, had to be closed at 18 male and four female teams.

With over 200 students taking part, students had travelled from as far as South East Essex and Llandrillo.

Group stages were very competitive with groups winners Lincoln, Loughborough and York qualifying for the final stages.

But it was Loughborough who were victorious when they beat Lincoln 3-1 and drew with York in a game which saw six goals. In the final game, York beat Lincoln 2-1.

Loughborough College will now represent Further Education Colleges in the knockout stage prior to the National FA Futsal Championships in Sheffield.
