As the pilot scheme comes to a close, TheFA.com looks back on the main components of the Respect campaign. |
The FA's 10-week Respect pilot scheme, aimed at improving behaviour in grassroots football, concluded last weekend.
Formed of three main measures - only captains may speak to the referee, roped-off areas for parents and spectators on the sidelines, and codes of conduct with related sanctions - the pilot ran in 20 adult and youth leagues around the country.
FA Director of Football Development Sir Trevor Brooking was among those who travelled to the U16 match between Kodak FC and Harrow St. Mary's on Sunday to see the scheme in action.
