Former England Captain Alan Shearer was at the new Wembley Stadium to celebrate the launch of The FA Umbro Fives, the country’s biggest small-sided tournament.
The FA Umbro Fives is the country's most prestigious small sided tournament open to anyone eighteen years and over – with The Final to be held at the new Wembley Stadium this summer.
The tournament provides the once in the lifetime opportunity for amateur players to live their dream of playing at Wembley.
Over 150 men’s and women’s qualifying heats will be held across the country beginning in March
The winning teams will progress to nine regional finals which take place from the end of April through to June. The top 32 men’s teams and 8 women’s teams will then go on to play on the hallowed turf of the new Wembley Stadium in the national Final on the 24 June.
That's not all; eight 'lucky losers' from the local heats will also get the chance to play in their own mini event at the national Wembley Final.
Teams eager for the chance to play at the ‘Home of Football’ can sign up and identify their local events by visiting www.thefa.com/UmbroFives.
