Hi everyone.
I had a fantastic day at The Cup Final last Saturday. My son loved it. It was his first Cup Final, so to see his team win was brilliant. He's still smiling.
The atmosphere was excellent, both inside and outside the ground. We walked from the train station to the ground and both sets of supporters got on really well.
I showed my son Wembley Way. It reminded me of when my dad used to take me when I was my son's age. I gave my dad a call to tell him.
I saw quite a few Wycombe and Watford fans. They came over and chatted. My little lad could not work out what was going on. He'd say 'we are at Chelsea v Manchester United. You didn't play for them, but why do they know you?'
My son and I were sitting about 12 rows from the front, right on the halfway line. The stadium was unbelievable. The facilities were great too. Everyone complained about the food but I thought it was the best I have ever had at a football ground.
I thought that apart from the first 20 minutes, it was a good game. I know the press had a go about the match, but what do they know?
Mikel and Makelele were great for Chelsea while Scholes was excellent for United. Chelsea were outstanding. All of their players turned up.
When it goes to extra-time, you know that the next goal will probably win it. Drogba's goal was excellent. When he's in that position he normally scores.
We stayed right to the end. We watched John Terry lift The Cup and saw the Chelsea players doing their lap of honour. In fact, we stayed so late the cleaners kicked us out!
Seeing Wembley made me realise how much I want to play there. I don't want to pack in playing until I have played at Wembley. Every player would love to play there.
I have been back training at Wycombe this week. It might seem strange as the season only finished a couple of weeks ago.
But it's not really a training session. We don't do any running, it's purely weights. It's a case of building the muscles up for the summer so pre-season does not hit you so hard.
We have been lifting some really heavy weights. Our fitness coach Terry Evans is 6ft 5ins - you don't argue with him! If he tells you to do something, you do it. The sessions are hard but at least I should be in decent nick when I go to the beach in Spain!
Our last session is on Friday then it's four weeks of rest. I have to say I am in holiday mode already. I am going to Spain with the family and hope to get lots of golf in. But it's a great chance to spend some time with the family and relax.
Being a footballer, you miss being a normal dad for 45 weeks of the season, so the summer break is your chance to do the things you have missed out on.
It's looking like I will go back to Wycombe next season although there is nothing concrete yet. I have spoken to the staff and I know what they want from me. It's all quite positive.
I will sit down with my agent next week and we will speak to the club. They don't have to sell the club to me. I have an excellent relationship with the gaffer.
If it was just a case of sorting out my personal stuff, I could sit down with the chief executive and settle it in 30 minutes. I don't see problems with that. I just need to know how far down the line they are with getting in the players they want to sign.
The ambitions of the club are not in doubt. I know they want to get promoted. But we are almost starting afresh next season after having had so many players on loan last year, so it's important we get players in.
The manager has been busy. He's after a centre-half from Swindon and has already signed Martin Bullock. He has played at the highest level and probably should have stayed there for a lot longer.
I've played against him quite a few times. I played against him when he was at Barnsley and more recently, when he was at Macclesfield.
He always seems to have a good game against us. Hopefully he will put in those performances in a Wycombe shirt.
I'd love to see Tommy Doherty back next season. He wants to come, but there are a few things that need to be settled between his club QPR and Wycombe first.
Have a good summer and thanks for reading.
