The Forest midfielder also reveals he's an expert on Tiger Woods before giving the latest update on David Prutton's beard and explaining why his mum does his ironing.

Hi everyone.

Our 3-0 win over Cheltenham was one of the best performances of the season in terms of the football we played. We played with a good tempo, held a high line when we defended and restricted them to just a few chances, most of which were long shots.

I was pleased with how I played. I hit the post and a few people said I played well. John Salako said I had a good game on Sky Sports - it's nice when people recognise your performances. They have been long overdue to be honest. Coming back from a hamstring injury, I am just beginning to feel sharp again. My performances are getting a lot better. I'm feeling a lot sharper in training. Hopefully the fans will see the best of me in the remaining games of the season.

I came off with three minutes to go for James Henry, who we have just signed on loan from Reading. He showed real maturity by taking the ball into the corner and keeping possession. His strengths are his pace and dribbling, so we will need to get him one-on-one with the left-back. He's been thrown in the deep end by joining us at the business end of the season, but it will be good experience for him.

Gary Holt got his first goal for Forest to put us ahead. He scored a screamer in a pre-season game a couple of seasons ago but this was his first competitive goal. He actually started the move himself, played a one-two with Jack Lester then coolly finished in a way you would not normally expect from him. I think he was surprised to find himself in the box, but instinct took over. It was great for him and we are delighted he's off the mark.

My roommate Perchy scored the second. I played it to Grant Holt who crossed to the far post where Perchy came steaming in. The goal looked good on TV - better than I remember. He's becoming known for his goals now and it adds a different dimension to our attacks.

Nathan Tyson got the third. Having just come back from suspension, he needed that. Once the penalty was awarded, he went chasing after the ball so he could take it. That's understandable because strikers always want to score.

With Junior out until the end of the season, we need Tys hit form. Junior had just started to hit some form and his pace and power will be a real loss. But it's important we don't rely on one person. With Jack Lester, Lewis McGugan, Grant Holt and me just to name a few - we have goals in the side. Ian Breckin is itching for a goal. He got ten last season, but he's only managed two or three so far.

That was our second win in as many games and sets us up nicely for the trip to Bristol City on Saturday.

It's a massive game. We are both too big to be playing in League One in terms of stadium, support and the football we play. City showed that when they played Middlesbrough while we have beaten Charlton. It's a huge game for League One, hopefully we will do it justice and it will be a good match.

We need to take our form there. It's a game we can't afford to lose. It would be a massive blow to our automatic promotion hopes if we did.

If we win at City it will be a real confidence boost. It would mean we are just one point behind them and might upset their form. They might take a few games to recover from a loss.

For me, it's quite nerve-wracking. As a kid you dream of playing in World Cup Finals and FA Cup Finals, you don't think when you are that young that a League One match will be one of the defining moments of your season. But to play in front of 20-odd thousand, of which 3,000 are Forest fans, will be quite intense.

I don't have problems sleeping the night before a big game, but I'm sure there will be a few butterflies when we get to the ground. I don't get nervous because of the situation, I just hope that I am going to have a good game. I just hope my work-rate and talent will shine through.

It's quite surprising how many people have been talking about the game. There have been lots of press around the ground this week.

It could be a difficult selection for the gaffer as Wes [Morgan] should be back, as should Prutts [David Prutton]. He's played at the highest level and his experience could be vital.

I'm pleased that Prutts has finally shaved his beard off. He had not had it cut for four months - he used to get food caught in it, like egg yolk. He used to look like a dirty tramp. The only problem is that he's not going to have it cut again until pre-season, so God knows what he will look like then.

It's been a reasonably quiet week aside from football. The missus is on holiday in Dubai at the moment, so it's just me and my dog Levi in the house at the moment. My mum has been over to do the ironing. I can work the washing machine, but I just can't seem to get the creases out with the iron. My mum has a bit more experience.

I have been playing Tiger Woods on my Nintendo Wii loads recently. I played St Andrews the other day and went round 12 under par. I'm supposed to be playing on a proper course next week but I bet I will be diabolical.

I did some work promoting The FA UMBRO Fives in Nottingham. It's a great tournament where the winners get to play at Wembley - that would be fantastic for any player. Hopefully lots of footballers in Nottingham will get involved.

Five-a-side is a great way to get fit. Myself, Ben Foster, Karl Henry and a few others who used to play at Stoke normally take part in a tournament before pre-season. We play at one of the Powerleagues, normally under different names. We didn't win last time though, we lost in the final.

Some teams have squads of ten, while we just kept the same five right the way through. We start at 9am and play until about 5pm - it's excellent for fitness. We normally start off like a house on fire but by the end we were knackered.

Other than Billy Sharp, which League One player would you like to bring to Forest?
Chris Wright

Billy Sharp is an excellent player, so apart from him I'd say my mate Brian Wilson from Bristol City. We used to play together at Stoke City when we were younger. His work-rate is second to none and I might be up against on Saturday. Other than him Wesley Hoolahan from Blackpool impressed me. He pulled the strings when we played them.

What did you think of the England-Andorra game?
John Farley

It reminded me a little of Forest under Gary Megson. The fans moaning at the players and manager did not help. It's difficult to play when the fans are on your back. But I was pleased they got the result.
