Gone to the dogs

Kris looks back on his double strike in the 4-2 win over Brentford before revealing he won a few quid on a night at the dog track.
Hi everyone.
I was pleased to get on the scoresheet against Brentford on Saturday. It had been coming, but we did not have it all our own way though.
It was hard to say what went wrong at the start of the game. Perhaps we thought it would be easy. We were expecting it to happen rather than making it happen. I had the first shot after about five or six seconds. It would have been a different game had that gone in.
Their goal gave us a kick up the backside, but when they went 2-0 up I thought it was game over. It was just after half-time, the gaffer had given us a real rollicking, but they came out and scored. I did not think it was going to be our day.
But as soon as we started playing, our attacking football was some of the best all season. We pulled a goal back and then I scored to make it 2-2. It was quite a good strike but the keeper should have saved it. It was an awkward position for him - perhaps he could have saved it with his legs.
I thought we would go on and win then. Their players looked like they were going to crumble.
After Grant Holt put us 3-2 up, they missed a great chance to make it 3-3. We then went up the other end and I scored my second. They were pushing for the draw and were quite exposed at the back.
I found myself in the right place to have a run on goal. I had it in my mind to round the keeper, but he came charging out so I just knocked it over him. Once it left my foot I knew it was in. It was a real relief. Some of the fans had been giving us some stick so it was nice to win.
I have scored five goals in three games against Brenford - they can't like me too much. A goal has been coming though. I have been close to scoring recently. I have been shooting lots but they just were not going in. The lads have been giving me some stick.
Brentford were a strong side last year but they have lost some important players since then. Sodje went to Reading, Tabb moved to Coventry and DJ Campbell is at Birmingham - they were three key players, the heart of the side. Martin Allen has left too. It's a shame to see players relegated, players low on confidence. It reminded me of when we got relegated from the Championship.
I have heard that there's a goal of the season competition on the club website at the moment. My right foot strike against Yeading might have a chance. I can't actually think of too many other goals which stick out. If it includes opposition goals, then the one we condeded against Doncaster was pretty special.
You can vote for the Player of the Year too. My vote would go to Grant Holt. He's played most of the games and has scored nearly 20 goals - that's some achievement. Brecks [Ian Breckin] might be up there, Perchy [James Perch] too. He's played well this season, particularly against Charlton, and has scored a few goals.
We play Bournemouth on Saturday. We need to win the game. Hopefully we can get an early goal and get the crowd on our side. We still have a chance of automatic promotion.
It's been quite a relaxing week since Brentford. We had Monday and Wednesday off to recharge the batteries.
A few of the lads had a night at Sheffield dogs on Tuesday. I did not win until the last race. I stuck £30 on a dog and it came in. I won about £140. The cricket was on in the background. I was hoping KP might smash another century, but it was all over when he was out. It was not a late one though. I was in bed by 11pm!
I saw the new Jackass film the other day. It's amazing! It's the funniest thing I have ever seen. Johnny Knoxville is crazy. Some of the things they do are ridiculous. They have some real issues. In one Knoxville is in a bull ring blind-folded. This bull charges straight at him and smashes him in the shins. He does about three flips in the air!
Are there any players in the youth team who look hot prospects for the future?
Chris Hawkins
It's hard to see them as we don't use the same training ground. Some of them have trained with us though. There is one lad who sticks out - Hamza Bencherif. He's a brute of a centre-half and he's only 17. Forest are known for producing quality young players. Give this lot a couple of years and they will be coming through, just like Lewis McGugan did.
What is your career highlight so far?
Francis Ellis
Winning The FA Cup Player of the Round twice. When I won it in 2005 I got to see Arsenal v Manchester United at the Millennium Stadium. I met Trevor Brooking too. This year I can't wait to go to the new Wembley Stadium. I have not won any silverware yet. Hopefully I will have a League One promotion medal by the end of the season.
What do you think happened to Forest after such a good start to the season? We were seven points clear and now it looks like we are heading for the play-offs.
Dilip Gupta
It's weird. At the start of the season we were picking up points without actually playing that well. Perhaps our luck just ran out. Since then we have played good football at times without scoring. I think opposition teams do raise their game against us. Coming to the City Ground and playing in front of 28,000 fans is the highlight of their season.
