Hi everyone.
Despite only getting one point from two games this week, the mood in the camp is fine. We have to try and stay positive and keep our eye on the goal - promotion. We are only one point off automatic promotion.
We played alright against Brighton, we thought we did enough to win the game. I think we would have come away with the three points if we had had 11 players on the pitch.
I did not see the sending off, but Nathan [Tyson] admitted after the game he caught Adam El-Abd with his elbow. Nathan said he'd been kicked and pinched all afternoon, but his reaction was petulant. He should have responded in the best way possible - scoring.
But we should have been two of three up at half-time.
After going ahead, we ended up conceding two goals in about ten seconds. We had the kick-off after the first goal and Jack Lester tried to run at the defence, but he got tackled. They hoofed it forward and shot from 18 yards, which our keeper could only parry. The guy just rolled in the rebound.
I got on for the last five minutes. It was never going to be a game I could really get into. I took one free-kick which gave Ian Breckin a good chance, but that was it. We were defending for our lives at that point.
It was really disappointing. It had been a long trip - you want to win those sorts of games to make the journey home a bit more enjoyable. Players will be different in how they react to a loss. Some will dwell on it in the bus on the way home, others will try to get it out of the system. The gaffer will sometimes call people to chat with him on the bus. He'll want to know if we were defending too deep or whether the formation worked. Things like that. The game is different on the field than watching from the bench, so he wants to get some feedback.
The draw with Blackpool was a shame too. At 1-0 up though we felt pretty confident, but they were always a threat. They played some really good football and played us off the park at times.
But they got a dodgy penalty in the last minute. Gary Holt, Julian Bennett and Wes Morgan were all around Wes Hoolahan when he went down, but they just made sure they backed off rather than touch him. He just fell and the ref gave it. He said to one of the players afterwards that no-one touched him.
It was disappointing, but they had a stone dead penalty turned down in the first half and Hoolahan was booked for that. We've not had much luck recently so we'll just have to take that on the chin.
I only got ten minutes against Blackpool. I was told to try and get the ball and run at the defence, to try and give our defence some time to recover. I had a chance at the end. Scott Dobie and I made a run but I was a bit surprised that the ball reached me. It landed on my head rather than I headed it.
The crowd were not happy - that was disappointing. There were a few shouts of ‘you’re not fit to wear the shirt’ at the end.
We were disappointed with the result, hearing a few shouts does not help. A few of the players went to clap the fans to say thanks for their support, but they were given some stick.
You could feel the tension around the ground. Our fans come to the ground in their thousands, they are our 12th man. When the fans are behind us, they are awesome. When they are negative, we can feel it. It deflates our confidence. We need them as much as they need us. We need to do this together. The 11 players on the pitch are trying to get the club promoted.
We play Chesterfield on Saturday. That’s just a couple of junctions up the M1 but we are going to stop over on Friday night. We are going to have a get together and get the team spirit going. The gaffer has a few plans, we'll probably play a few games.
It will be a good game to win. Hopefully our fans will turn out in their numbers. I’m half expecting to start, particularly with Nathan Tyson and Grant Holt being suspended. There are positions I could fill in.
Hopefully a win could start a run of results. There’s quite a lot of pressure on us now. That’s part and parcel of playing for Nottingham Forest.
What memories do you have of your time at Stoke? Obviously we were disappointed to see you leave!
Dave Meacham
I have good memories of my time there. I think the best memory I have is of scoring my first goal for Stoke. We were playing Norwich, I picked the ball up on the halfway line, cut in and played a one-two which took out about three or four players and I suddenly found myself in the box. I thought 'I've got to score now'. It was an awesome feeling. It did not know how to celebrate, I just put my hands up and got mobbed. I was nearly strangled. I'm still in touch with quite a few of the players - Karl Henry, who is now at Wolves and Ben Foster, who in on loan at Watford. I was a little surprised that he's gone on to play for England. He had amazing reactions, it was if he had no joints. It was his kicking that was a problem, but watching him at Old Trafford against Spain, he looked like he could kick it seven miles and still land it on Crouch's head. It just shows what you can do if you work on your game.
Why doesn't James Perch buy himself a new washbag?
Richard Winfieldale
He's just gone and bought one! He's also bought some cod liver oil tablets which means his fish oil stays at home! Being his roommate, I'm pleased about that. You could not be in the same room as it.
Hi Kris. What's the funniest thing that has happened at the club since you have been there?
Callum Jones
That would have to be Gino Padula's tackle on Gary Megson. We were playing Barnsley away. It was really wet and we were not playing well. We were getting battered actually. Anyway, Gino used to do these ten yard slide tackles, but he must have slid 20 yards for this one and ended up going straight into Gary Megson who was on the touchline. He ended up on his knees in the mud - Gary never saw him coming. The reaction from the crowd was brilliant. It really put a smile on my face. It was a classic moment.
I have quite a funny story from when I was at Stoke which involves Ben Foster. We were playing this game indoors where you have one touch to try and shoot into the other goal. The trick is not to kick it too hard otherwise it will rebound off the back wall towards your goal, which means your opponent will be closer to your goal. Anyway, I was playing Ben and ended up about five or six yards from his goal. I cracked the ball so hard but from nowhere, Ben leaped up and saved it with the side of his head. I could not believe it. I hit it so hard. I just thought 'you are crazy'.
