Hi everyone.

We beat Scunthorpe two Saturday ago. That was a good result. They were seventh in the league and have done well since they came up from League One. It's a difficult place to go so it's good to get results at grounds like that.

It looked like it could be a test when they equalised at 1-1 but we got two early goals in the second half and that killed them.

I scored our third goal. The ball just came through, I beat the defence to it and there was only one thing in my mind - putting the ball in the net.

I felt relieved when it went in as it was my first goal in open play this season. As a striker you take any goals you can and that's my fourth this season. I seem to be under scrutiny for not scoring in open play. It's part and parcel of being a striker. But I'm feeling good about my game. I know what I can do and form comes with games.

Scunthorpe have the no fear factor, like Blackpool. They are taking teams by surprise. They look like they are going to do more than just survive this season. They are a great advertisement for lower league teams who come up to the Championship. They might not have the same finances as other teams, but they more than make up for it with their fighting spirit.

There are no easy games in this league. You really have to grind out the points. Teams will make it as difficult as possible. They have great team spirit which means you have to work hard and be on top of your game. Their fans are buzzing which makes even more difficult.

Darius [Henderson] won the Championship Player of the Month award for September. He deserved it. He is going through a purple patch at the moment and is scoring for fun. He struggled in the Prem last year and could have moved to another club in the summer, but he's worked hard. Defenders hate playing against him. He's big and strong - defenders don't fancy it.

Our team spirit has always been the same regardless of where we are in the league. We are only looking ahead to the next game though. Teams want to beat you when you are top of the league. There is a level of expectation too but we just get on with it.

We had the weekend off so I went up to Liverpool to see some of my mates up there. Other than that I just spent the time chilling with the missus and little girl.

I saw the England-Russia game. I thought it was a matter of time before they were going to score. They were so composed around the penalty box, they were just picking their passes.

It's disappointing England have to rely on other results now. With the players England have, they should not be needing Israel to do them a favour. They should be walking that group.

Hopefully the England rugby team can win on Sunday. I will be watching it even though I am not really a rugby fan. Malky Mackay is into it, so are the goalkeepers. I don't know why. Perhaps it's due to them having to use their hands.

We play Hull tomorrow. That's another tough game. They would probably want to be higher in the league than they are. These are the types of games we need to win. They have Dean Windass, who has been scoring, and Jay-Jay Okocha. He is blessed with talent and has been at the top for a long time. We will have to have someone in his face right from the start. We can't afford to give him time on the ball.

We then play Coventry which will be difficult. Iain Dowie will have them fired up. We beat Crystal Palace in the Play-Offs a couple of seasons ago when he was manager. He would love to get revenge for that.

We have had two weeks off so we all feel refreshed. We want to get back into it now.

Speak to you next week.

Laters.

If you had the opportunity to sign one player for Watford, who would it be and why?
Claire Higgs
I would have to say Kaka. He can play in midfield or up front and would score goals for fun. He's the man at the moment. The best player in the world. Messi would be my second choice.

If you were not a footballer, what would you do for a career?
Ashley Dougal

I would have been a social worker, working with kids. I did that when I was at college. I enjoyed. I have aunts and uncles who are social workers, it's a family thing.

Marlon will be back next week. If you have any questions you'd like to ask him, email editor@TheFA.com...
