The FACA Conference and Charter Standard Clubs Conferences have proved a real hit so far this year.

The FA Learning department was delighted with its two conferences at this year’s Grass Roots Football LIVE that took place at the NEC last month.

The FACA Conference gave members the opportunity to learn more about age specific coaching and meeting the needs of young players, both in the presentation theatre and out on the pitch.  A variety of speakers from across the FA’s coaching team were on hand to give valuable advice and tips, and members went away with a greater understanding and knowledge of this crucial development area.

The Charter Standard Clubs Conference updated delegates an on the programme and plans for the future, following The FA’s recent announcement of a £200m investment into the grass roots game.

Other topics included Skills Coach programme opportunities for Charter Standard Clubs and advice on how Charter Standard Club staff can make the best use of IT to assist them with the running of their club. Stuart Hamer from Sale United and Tony Ludwig from Ludwig Leisure gave insightful presentations full of examples of good practice in their clubs others may wish to follow.

The Conferences were attended by over 150 guests who then spent the rest of day visiting the exhibition at the Grass Roots LIVE show which was attended by 14,000 people over the three days.
