The Next Generation

While the class of 2008 were graduating from the course, the next group were taking their first steps towards the award.

The likes of Gareth Southgate, Mike Phelan and Wayne Allison are among the names on the list of coaches who will be studying throughout this season working towards gaining the Pro Licence next summer.

TheFA.com caught up with the coaches to find out their hopes and expectations for the course.

Mike Phelan
The former Norwich and Man Utd midfielder, Pheland now coaches the likes of Rooney and Ferdinand as First Team Coach at Old Trafford. Phelan talks about how United can better their achievements of last season.

Gareth Southgate
An elegant defender for club and country, Southgate took the reins at Middlesbrough two years ago and has enjoyed a promising start to his managerial career at the Riverside.
