As the man in charge of Chelsea's reserve team, Brendan Rodgers has an enviable task in that he is able to work closely with the complete spectrum of players at the West London club.

From time to time Rodgers is able to call upon senior players like Wayne Bridge and Paulo Ferreira combined with a plethora of bright young things like Scott Sinclair, Michael Woods and Ben Sahar.

Now in his second season at Chelsea following his switch from Reading where he worked in the Academy, Rodgers is keen to add the Pro Licence to his list of credentials, and after starting the course earlier this month he is delighted by the level of work involved.

Rodgers told TheFA.com: "The interaction between the coaches, and obviously the staff, is relaxed but focused.

"We know we're all here to improve ourselves and get better as coaches, and we're all learning of eachother.

"It's been excellent, the organisation and the facilities are fantastic, I think everyone has enjoyed eachothers company. It's a great mix of people and everyone brings different ideas and perspectives to the equation."

The very nature of the award means that it brings together coaches from all areas of the game, and that is something that Rodgers feels can only benefit him in his approach to his role.

"There is a great combination of people involved on the course. For instance I work with the reserves at Chelsea dealing with some senior players and some younger players, then you have people like Roy at the cutting edge of the game.

"It's a good mix and variety, I think that's important that we are all able to offer our own views and take what suits our own roles out of the course.

"It's for the good of the game, we will all improve eachother in this environment and I think everyone will take positives out of it."
