Applications are invited for the position of Chief Executive Officer for the Hertfordshire Football Association.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day running of the Hertfordshire County Football Association. This will include Legal matters, Financial matters, Business Planning, Football Development, Football Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, Personnel and Managerial matters.

The main responsibilities will include:

  • To act as Company Secretary and ensure that the Company complies with the requirements of the Companies Act and relevant employment legislation;
  • To be responsible for all Financial activities in the Hertfordshire Football Association;
  • To compile the County’s Business Plan for approval by the Board of Directors. To be responsible (in conjunction with the relevant Committees) for the deliver of all objectives of the Association's plan;
  • To ensure the deliver of all Football Administration process;
  • To oversee Football Development activities;
  • To be responsible for the County Marketing and Public Relations strategies and for liaison with The Football Association, Clubs and Leagues;
  • To be responsible for all personnel issues including Staff Policies, Recruitment, Contracts, Discipline, Absence Management, Appraisal, and Training and Development;
  • To ensure that an Information Technology structure is implemented to satisfy the requirements of The Football Association and the County FA initiatives.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have significant sport/football experience
  • Experience of managing staff
  • Have the ability to lead a team and to work as part of a team
  • Demonstrate individual initiative
  • Support team members to set personal objectives and targets
  • Be able to work strategically with partner organisations to deliver programmes and courses
  • Have excellent communications and presentation skills
  • Hold a driving licence
  • Have a solid understanding of The FA’s National Game Strategy
  • Possess excellent customer service skills
  • Possess leadership qualities, be fair and have an understanding of equality and including issues.
