Women's football in focus

An FA delegation flew to Norway for a UEFA Study Visit.

An FA delegation recently travelled to Norway to attend a UEFA Study Visit, focused around women’s football.

The delegation included England Women’s assistant manager Brent Hills, England Women’s U17 Head Coach Lois Fidler, National Project Officer for Women’s football Kay Cossington and National Women’s Football Development Manager Rachel Pavlou. They were joined by representatives from the FAI, the FAW and the Danish Football Federation.

The visit was built around information on how the Norwegian Football Federation support the girls’ and women’s game through a variety of school, club and international initiatives, culminating in them being among the upper echelons of the women’s game for the last two decades.

Each visiting association was also given the opportunity to provide a short presentation on the current state of women’s football in their own country, which simply illuminated the fact that the future of the women’s game in Europe is in very good health in the short, medium and long term.
