Get Into Football

Half term Skills

Primary School children across the country will have the opportunity to develop their football Skills alongside specialist FA Tesco Skills Coaches this forthcoming half term.

As part of The FA Tesco Skills Programme, boys and girls between the ages of 5-11, will have the opportunity to attend a variety of free skills sessions throughout the February half term.

The Skills sessions, which are open to boys and girls of all abilities, will focus on improving decision making skills in game like situations and are available at 37 venues across the country.

With each venue running both a morning and afternoon coaching session, The FA Tesco Skills Project manager Nick Levett feels the half term sessions are a great introduction to the Skills Programme.

“We want as many children as possible to attend these sessions to gain an introduction to The FA Skills Programme," said Levett.

"We hope that both the children and their parents will see the benefit of the way the Skills Coaches work and go away wanting to get involved in the programme on a weekly basis.”

Children who attend the events will be given further information about how they can access The FA Tesco Skills Centres in their local area.

The Skills Centres which run on a weekly basis give children regular opportunities to develop all aspects of their game, with the coaches focusing on the technical, physical, social and psychological aspects of player development.
