The Team Behind The Team

Whenever the England national teams run out on the field they are supported by another off field team who are there to ensure the best possible preparation and the highest standards of care for the health and welfare of the players.

This ‘Team Behind The Team’ includes coaching and logistical staff, but it will be largely comprised of the expert football medicine and football science staff from The Football Association Sports Medicine and Sports Science Department at St George’s Park.

A multi-disciplinary team of sports medicine doctors, physiotherapists, osteopaths, masseurs, sports psychologists, sports nutritionists and strength and conditioning staff are all working together to improve the performance of the England team.

Through collaboration with universities and hospitals The Football Association Sports Medicine and Sports Science Department at St George’s Park has an extended network of experts, including doctors, surgeons and research specialists who are able to provide high quality services for the benefit of the England national team players and the wider football community.
