A position with the Birmingham County FA has arisen.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at Birmingham County Football Association. We are requesting applications from highly motivated team players for a new Football Development Officer (Growth, retention & workforce) to assist in the implementation of the Strategy.This position will support all areas of football development in accordance with the County Game Strategy and FA National Game Strategy. You will specifically lead and implement the aspects relating to growth, retention and developing the football workforce to assist in the delivery of key targets within the Strategy.
The role encompasses the following areas:-
• Develop programmes to sustain and where possible increase adult participation (specifically 11v11) by supporting adult leagues and other key agencies.
• Lead work relating to the retention of players aged 14-19 by providing more flexible formats of football (eg. eight week leagues, mini leagues, summer football, pay and play).
• Implement a programme to build links between schools, colleges, universities and FA Charter Standard Clubs (especially The FA club link programme) to increase and retain participation in all areas of the game.
• Deliver a quality coach and volunteer development programme and target areas for specific course needs (e.g. FA Education courses, age appropriate, Futsal, CDF).
• Lead on the development of young leaders and volunteers in the game.
The successful candidate is likely to be of graduate calibre with knowledge and experience of sports/football development. An understanding of football structures and development pathways at local, regional and national level is also required. You need to be passionate about and committed to the development of football at a local level and be able to plan, set and achieve objectives within strict deadlines.
Candidates must demonstrate both team working skills and the ability to work unsupervised and on their own initiative. Experience of managing projects/events to demonstrate sound organisation and planning skills is required. Excellent communication, presentation and IT skills will be expected.
Applicants must hold a full driving licence and be able to work some evenings and weekends.
