Tord Grip Profile

Tord Grip played top flight football in Sweden during the 1960s with AIK in Stockholm, whilst studying for a degree in Physical Education, and gained 3 international caps for Sweden. He managed several first division Swedish sides before having spells as Manager of Norway and Assistant Manager of Sweden. He linked up with Sven-Goran Eriksson at Lazio where he was his assistant, and was retained as Sven's deputy with England when he took over as Head Coach of the Three Lions.

Name to look out for in 2005: I mentioned Andy Johnson before and I still want to do that – we will definitely have a good look at him.

He’s on his own as a striker at Palace and he’s doing that very well. To play 4-5-1 you need to be very strong to play up front there on your own and he’s that type of player. He’s causing a lot of problems for the opponents.

Professional ambition 2005: Just one thing, to qualify for the World Cup 2006. That is very easy, the easiest question you’ve ever asked me!
