It was an excellent performance and result against my old club, Stoke City, last week as we bounced back from our defeat to Crystal Palace.

I was at Stoke before moving to Blackpool, and they are a very good club. Tony Pulis is now there with John Rudge and they've done an great job. It was a tough game as it always is against Tony's sides, we stood firm, played well, created chances and got the all-important goal.  There were 23,500 fans at Carrow Road and provided a great atmosphere. They are all enjoying themselves at the minute and we hope we can keep it going until the end of the season to give them even more to cheer about.

In fact, there's a wonderful spirit around the football club as a whole, everyone's buzzing.  None more so than Robert Green, who had his first call into the England squad earlier this week.  It was great news for Robert, he deserves the chance, and it highlights the great work of the Norwich City Academy.  Robert came through the system here and was one of four of our players to go away with the various England teams this week. Joe Lewis, another of our young 'keepers, was with the Under-17s, while Ian Henderson and Ryan Jarvis both played for the Under-19s in the 1-1 draw with Germany on Tuesday.

Going to Sweden with Sven's team was a very good experience for Robert, hopefully one he will learn from.  I spoke to him this morning after he returned from Gothenburg and he said he enjoyed it very much.  Working with the country's top players and coaches is a huge bonus for any player and Robert made the most of his time with Ray Clemence and the other goalkeepers.  He'll want to have more opportunities like that in the future, but he'll just get on with his normal job and know that if he's playing well, then that chance may come his way again.

That Robert has been attracting the attention of the England coaches, and on a similar level that a Nationwide league side will be in The FA Cup final, shows the capabilities of some of the players and clubs outside the top flight.

The game on Sunday at Old Trafford will be a real ding-dong.  Millwall and Sunderland, both playing for promotion to the Premier League, will be going out to win a place at Cardiff.  It will be a very tight affair, Millwall have some fine young players with good ability, while Sunderland have some talented players with experience, and that could be something that just helps Mick McCarthy's team through to the Millennium.

They are  two powerful teams and have built up the momentum. They are going very strong at the moment and will also be spurred on by a place in Europe. It'll be a close call between the two, they both want to be competing against the best every week, so it's game on in Manchester.

We're not too far from away tomorrow when we play Burnley at Turf Moor. It's going to be a very hard game, we've got to stand up and compete and make sure that when we get the ball we don't give it away cheaply.  If we get that right, and maintain that level for the rest of the season, then we'll have every chance of being where we all want to be...
