It was a lovely result for Northern Ireland on Wednesday night, they worked very hard against England and I think that over the course of 90 minutes they got the result they deserved.

The team’s shape was good and everybody did their job very, very well. I watched the game on TV at home and to be honest it took me back to the 1980s when we had a great group of players that went to the World Cup finals. There was a high work ethic in the side, a never say die attitude and the crowd willing them on from minute one.

It was a nice goal that won the game. A great finish from David Healy, he’ll be delighted and will never forget it. Neither will the Irish public. Gerry Armstrong scored the winner against Spain in 1982 and that went down in history, so anybody who creates that situation is going to be very highly thought of.

The people of Belfast will feel like they’ve won the World Cup. As daft as it seems it’s a huge thing when you look at the players in the England team. It’s a great achievement for Northern Ireland.

Lawrie Sanchez is getting quite a reputation for giant-killings. Considering the group of players he has include only two or three playing in the Premiership. The rest are out of the Championship and League One. He’s got his hands full and it's not an easy task, but he has worked long and hard for a result and then two came along at once which is superb.

We could do with getting a couple of good wins here at Norwich. We’re battling away but we’re not getting much reward for all the hard work. We’re continuing to work at that and we won't give up. We’re on the right lines, though, and hopefully we can try and put it right very soon.

From my point of view, I've got to keep the belief and keep the optimism there and make sure the players are in a positive frame of mind so they can enjoy their football. Having said that, the spirit of the players is first class they have been excellent in their approach. They’ve worked very hard as a group and I think they know the importance that we’ve got to work to get through this little spell and get back to winning ways

We've just added a new striker to the team, too. Kevin Lisbie has arrived for a month from Charlton as we’ve got one or two injuries up front. He’ll give us more pace and will bring more Premiership experience. He’s also very quick and capable of scoring goals but because of his pace he can cause havoc in the opposition defences.

Our game on Saturday against Plymouth is live on Sky, but I won't need to do any special preparation. With my Barnet you can brush it in the morning and it never moves until the next morning, it just sits there. It'll leave me to focus on getting the three points we need.
