David Beckham looks certain to stay at Real Madrid after Florentino Perez was voted in for a second season as club president.
Perez is a big fan of the England captain and secured a 94 per cent of votes from Madrid supporters to continue at the club.
Some doubts had been raised as to whether Beckham would stay in Spain if rival candidates Arturo Baldasano or Lorenzo Sanz had been voted in at the Bernabeu.
But Becks now looks set to remain at Madrid for a second season. (Express)

Sven-Goran Eriksson has admitted he would like to become Sweden’s manager - but only after his contract ends with England.
Eriksson says he would return to manage his home nation, but is fully concentrated on helping England achieve success at World Cup 2006 in Germany first.
Eriksson said: "Sweden will wait. Now I am looking forward to the World Cup 2006 qualifiers then the finals, and hopefully success in Germany." (Sun)

Damien Duff could miss the start of the season after suffering an injury setback at Chelsea.
The Blues winger underwent shoulder surgery last season and is struggling to be fit in time for the new campaign and is yet to begin pre-season training under Jose Mourinho’s reign.
Meanwhile Marcel Desailly has been offered a coaching role to stay at Stamford Bridge.
The Frenchman has been released from Chelsea and had his final year’s wages paid up - but may now stay with the club after all. (Mirror)

Newcastle's Craig Bellamy has been struck by another knee injury and could now face his seventh major operation.
The striker has suffered a new knock to his left knee - which kept him out for half of last season - and may now miss the start of the season. (Sun)

Edu has revealed he would have played for England if Brazil had not finally decided to pick him.
The Arsenal midfielder would have become eligible to play for England because of his time in the country - but opted for his home nation when finally selected in April.

Diego Maradona's son is on trial with Blackburn Rovers.
The 17-year-old - also called Diego - will arrive at Ewood Park this week in an attempt to secure a permanent move from Italian side Napoli.
It is believed Rovers have been using a code name to protect Maradona Junior from the spotlight - but he will be hoping to prove himself once he arrives in England. (Mirror)
