Arsene Wenger has put Europe’s top clubs on alert after admitting he will consider his long-term future in October. (Mirror, Mail, Star)
The Arsenal boss revealed he turned down an approach to become Germany’s national manager in the wake of their Euro 2004 disaster.
But Wenger, who has one year left on his contract at Highbury, will not open contract talks until October and did not give any guarantees that he will definitely stay.

Chelsea are poised to clinch the signing of Didier Drogba, according to reports in several of today’s papers.
The Sun, Mirror and Star all claim that Drogba will join Chelsea in a record British transfer fee for a striker.
Estimates on the fee Marseille will receive for the Ivory Coast star range from £22m to £27m.

Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez is making a shock move for AC Milan’s Argentine centre-half Fabricio Coloccini, according to the Daily Mirror.
Coloccini could move to Anfield in a cut-price move - either for a £3.5m fee or on loan for the season.
The 22-year-old defender was a star of Villareal’s season, helping them reach the UEFA Cup semi-finals while on loan with the Spanish club.

Several papers report that former England boss Terry Venables could make a return to management with Australian club Newcastle United.
Venables, 61, confirmed that he has held talks with the club, which is based 90 miles north of Sydney.
Venables, who had a spell in charge of the Aussie national side, said: “I’m thinking about it. There are other offers - but this one is certainly tempting.”
