Serbia have made it through to the Championships as an independent nation for the first time and Mirsolav Djukic's side will be full of confidence after pulling off an incredible comeback in their Play-off to eventually defeat Sweden.

Having waltzed through qualifying thanks to wins over Georgia and Lithuania, Serbia were shocked in Novi Sad by Sweden, the visitors winning 3-0 to put Djukic's side all but out of the competition.

However, the Serbs produced an incredible perfomance in Trollhattan, thrashing the Swedes 5-0 thanks to a brace from Stefan Babovic, and further goals from Dragan Mrda, Bosko Jankovic and Milos Krasic.

Serbia, usually employ a 4-4-2 formation, but Djukic is not afraid to adopt his tactics and has often switched to 4-5-1 or 4-3-3.

With such an array of talent at his disposal, Djukic will be hoping that some of the players that were part of the Serbia & Montenegro side in 2006 will be able to go one better after reaching the semi-finals last year.
