David Nugent insists that England will get the result they need in their final group game after a 2-2 draw with Italy on Thursday.
A win against Serbia would ensure Stuart Pearce's side go through to the Semi-Final of the UEFA U21s Championship.
Nugent notched the opening goal in an entertaining game in Arnhem to take his Under-21s tally to four.
He said: “It’s still in our hands. We just need to make sure we win.
“We’ll be positive, we have a great team spirit and I’m sure we can beat the Serbs on Sunday.
“The Italians are a quality side, but if we win our next game then they’ll be out, so let’s hope we can send them home."
Nugent’s strike partner Leroy Lita was also on target putting England 2-0 up and the Reading man was delighted to erase the memory of his penalty miss against the Czech Republic in the opening game.
“I was disappointed with the penalty miss the other night and tonight I just wanted to make sure I got on the scoresheet.
“I’m not one of those players that is going to hide. I’ll miss chances but I’ll score as well and I’ll make sure I’m always there.
He added: “We had enough chances to win it but we’re still in the tournament and as long as we stick together and make sure we’re positive, then we can go into the final game knowing we can win.”
