After his recent stint with the England senior team for the last three games, goalkeeper Scott Carson returned to the Under-21s and caught up with TheFA.com as he looked forward to the UEFA Championship.
Carson made his second 'B' Team appearance at Burnley just over a fortnight ago and was on the bench as Steve McClaren's side took on Brazil at Wembley and Estonia in the Euro 2008 Qualifier on Wednesday.
"It was a good experience and it was nice to be involved with the two big games," he said.
"I never really had a great deal to do [in the 'B' game], but I was just pleased to play. I got a taste of it last season just before the World Cup. It was nice to start the game and get a taste for what it's like.
"It's probably the closest thing to playing for the full squad."
Carson is now back with the Under-21s and hopes that the experiences from the seniors will help him through the Championship.
He's also linked up again with Ben Alnwick and Joe Hart and says that they have settled in well to the Under-21s set-up.
"They've been in a few squads now and they are both good lads, and they've done really well. Joe played the other night, I didn't see the game but I spoke to Ray Clemence and he said he didn't have a lot to do but what he did he did it well," added Carson.
"Being with the full squad, I've seen what it's like to play in qualifiers and see how the players go about it. Hopefully I can bring that with me and it will give me that little bit extra.
"Training is pretty similar. In the first team you feel a little bit more under pressure to do well, but with the Under-21s I've known the lads for two or three years now.
"I feel that this is our club."
