It has been a very busy start to 2005 for me and the Christmas dinner has been well and truly run off! I am currently in La Manga with the rest of the England squad for a week’s training in preparation for the European Championships in England this June.

We left on Monday but not before my club side Charlton progressed to the FA Women's Cup Fifth Round on Sunday. It was a good weekend as we enjoyed a good 4-1 win over Wolves.

It was a tough game but we are showing that we can score goals now and are getting our confidence back. I didn’t manage to score although I was close, but not close enough!

We are set to play West Ham in the next round of the competition but I don’t know too much about them. I was just talking to some of the other England squad members out here and apparently they are a good young side and no team at this stage of the tournament is going to be easy but we have to be confident.

Everybody knows, however, what surprises The FA Women's Cup can throw up so we can’t get complacent and we’ll approach it like we are playing a Premier league side and just do our best.

I hope we can progress because The FA Women's Cup is a very special competition for me. I love the feeling of playing in the final with all the supporters there and so I desperately want to experience that once again.

Back to the business out here in La Manga and luckily it is not too hot which is good as we are training hard and things are going well. We are concentrating on different things out here, particularly in the final third which is what we need

It is another week long get together so the squad is really starting to bond, everybody is getting on really well and on the training field we are all looking sharp. We will be ready for the Euros.

I can’t wait for the European Championship draw next week as every team in the hat is brilliant so it is going to be exciting to see who we get. There are no teams that we want to avoid because we can’t afford to think like that. We have got to be confident against whoever we are playing.

Finally, it has been a real boost that Kelly Smith has returned from America to concentrate on the build up to the European Championships. She is a great player for England and she always goes and gives it her best so it is only a bonus for the team.

Goodbye from Spain for now and I will speak to you all again on my return. Adios!
