HOPE POWELL
Women's National Coach

Hope became the first full-time National Women’s Coach in 1998, when she retired from playing for England having won 66 caps and scored 35 goals from midfield. Hope started her playing career at the age of 11 for senior side Millwall Lionesses and won The FA Women’s Cup twice with Croydon.

She was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s birthday honours list in 2002 and became the first woman to achieve the UEFA Pro-Licence coaching award in 2003.

As well as managing the England Senior team, Hope oversees the whole set-up from Under-15s to U21s, a coach mentoring scheme and The FA’s National Player Development Centre at Loughborough University. more..

BRENT HILLS
Assistant Women's National Coach
Brent originally trained as a PE teacher at Culham College, Oxford, in the mid-Seventies after coaching a local boys club in Fulham while playing for Kingstonian and Feltham FC in former Isthmian league at right-back.

Brent has various coaching experience at Chapman Univeristy College (California), Brentford, Millwall, Watford and Fulham. He lectured in Sports and Exercise Science at Southbank University and Southwark College, where he started the first female college football academy in 1998 (of which Kate Chapman was a player).

He hold the UEFA A License, M. Sc. In Sports Coaching and is an FA Coach Education Diploma Holder.

KEITH REES
Goalkeeping Coach
Keith’s first involvement with women’s football was at Liverpool Community College in Merseyside coaching goalkeepers aged 19–21 male and female. In the 2001-02 season he began working with the England Under-19 and Senior England goalkeepers.

Keith is also currently the Everton FC girls’ Centre of Excellence Goalkeeping Coach. He is responsible for the identification and development of goalkeepers between the ages of 9-16. Keith also works as the boys’ assistant Goalkeeping coach at Everton FC Academy.

He works regularly with the England Senior and youth teams, and is also involved with the development of goalkeepers at The FA National Player Development Centre.

Dr. PIPPA BENNETT MBChB MRCGP Dip SportsMed
Team Doctor

Pippa has been the Team Doctor since 1999 and was on hand to help the team in the 2001 UEFA European Women’s Championship in Germany.

Pippa used to play in the Greater London Division One for Old Addeyans (now Long Lane Ladies) and is now a soccer mum to Calum and Ben.

She is currently undertaking a Masters dissertation into ACL injuries in female footballers.

LOUISE FAWCETT
Physiotherapist

Louise qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1991 and has previously worked with the NHS, a private practice in Australia and for the Badminton Association of England.

Louise joined The FA in September 2001 and her role is to provide physiotherapy service to all female international squads and The FA National Player Development Centre at Loughborough University. She has worked at both the Sydney and Athens Olympic Games with Team GB providing medical support to athletes.

Louise is currently studying a Masters in Manipulative Physiotherapy and doing research into hamstring injuries in footballers.

DAWN SCOTT
Exercise Scientist

Dawn graduated from Aberdeen with a postgraduate degree in Sports Nutrition, prior to completing a degree in Sports Science at Manchester Metropolitan University.

She previously worked as a lecturer at University College Worcester, as well as providing fitness and nutritional support to FAWPL National Division teams. Dawn’s role is to assess and monitor the fitness levels of the Senior, U15, U17, U19 and U21 female England squads, as well as implementing training programmes for the players at The FA’s National Player Development Centre.

She also provides support during training and matches, ensuring players warm-up and cool down properly. Dawn oversees the players’ diet, nutrition and hydration.

HELEN NICOLAOU
Team Administrator
Helen joined The FA in August 1999 as the administrator for the England women’s team. She previously worked for London Leopards, a professional mens’ basketball team as administrator, and as a PA for Edward Symons and Harvey Goldsmiths.

Helen co-ordinates all team matters from booking venues, to liaising with all squad members. She ensures smooth logistical arrangements for England at both home and abroad.
